Take a Word Challenge
The theme for the week at Take a Word Challenge was "Maps"

Tag Tuesday

AEDM - Day 2

Today is "Day of the Dead" or "Dia de Los Muertos"
In honour of today, I created a small collage card:

The background is a gelli print, skull hand-drawn, with cut-out magazine letters.

AEDM- Day 1

November brings AEDM - Art Every Day Month - the fun challenge hosted at Creative Every Day by  Leah Piken Kolidas.
I am in desperate need of an infusion of art and creativity and Leah's challenge is one I have done many times. I am determined to create daily - I have missed this outlet for some time.

Day1
I saw a 30 day challenge issued by ATStamps, creating small stamps (4.5 cm x 6 cm). I did not have the "MY Stamp" to create the stamp, so I carved my own. It made me realize how long it has been since I carved a stamp - so it is a bit wonky!

The theme for today was "Animals". I may not continue the whole month with this stamp challenge but it got me going today.

I also want to work with felt; do some beading; do some watercolour and work in a journal with quotes. Lots of ideas to keep me busy.

Here is the stamp and notebook I use to test the stamp:

Here is my created "stamp" (not perfect by any months, but fun anyway)

Be sure to check here to see what all the fun is about - and tow see what others around the world are creating for AEDM.

ART on Friday on Saturday

Getting away for a few days meant no blogging, no ART on Friday - and even late on Saturday.
Here then are a few things I've been working on this week.

Colour Me Positive
This week at LuLu Art, the theme is about having a positive attitude.

I also created a canvas with the theme about making change as well.

AEDM and Art Tags
This month for AEDM, I am making art tags with writing quotes. Here are the tags for the first 5 days:

Day 5 is in honour of Breeder's Cup (held yesterday and today) and an amazing jockey - Calvin Borel (who has won the Kentucky Derby 3 times):

AEDM

Each November, Leah Piken Kolidas of "Creative Every Day", hosts AEDM (Art Every Day Month). It is a wonderful challenge to encourage daily creativity - no matter what you choose to do.
I have taken part a number of times and enjoyed each challenge.
This year, I decided to create art tags (which is my 365 day challenge for myself) with writing quotes that will encourage me through NaNoWriMo.

Here are the first 2:

Nov.1

Nov. 2

I also repurposed a canvas I had done a while ago, to highlight a quote I need to have front and centre in my life.

Art on Friday

This week both gratitude and a full moon inspired me to create journal pages.

Art Journal Journey
With American Thanksgiving this week and the theme of "autumn colours" at Art Journal Journey, I used inspiration from Valerie -Jael of  Bastelmania to create this page.

Full Frost Moon Dreamboard
I have returned to the practice of creating a dreamboard on the ful moon and find it valuable.
The question posed by Jamie Ridler " What dreams are becoming clear?" was the focus  as I gathered words and images,

This time I found several quotes that spoke to me used those to motivate me in the month ahead.

The theme of shifting gears struck me as necessary - changing what I do to achieve better results - not only in my writing but in my pursuit of better health.
The need to express my creativity came through as well.

Several om "One little Words" found there way on the dreamboard as well - as a reminder to seek joy, believe I can achieve, and bloom.

ABC Wednesday - S and WOYWW

This week at ABC Wednesday, S is our letter of focus.

S is for strips and scraps of paper.

From these strips of gelli papers, I created a number of striped tags.

Be sure to visit here to see how others around the world faced the S challenge.

WOYWW

Julia Dunnit of "Stamping Ground" hosts WOYWW,  a weekly check-in where artists from around the world share their workspaces and what they are working on.

I have been creating tags with gelli paper scraps for AEDM was creating a few and thought I'd share my work space mid-way through the process.

Top left are several tags I had finished and to the right is my tub of papers and odds and ends for projects, as well as a pile of papers to work with.

Once the tags were finished, I chose a word (or words) for each card. Here are a few more of the completed tags.

Weekly Wrap-Up

My wrap-up of the week didn't happen Sunday - but here are a few things I have finished this past week.
The end of November say a completion of:

1.  NaNoWriMo - I was able to write 50,000 words and worked on several writing projects. It has spurred my desire to keep writing.

2. PiBoIdMo - I produced 30 picture book ideas and actually wrote a first draft for one of the ideas.

3. AEDM - I finished my zen page

and almost carved a stamp a day.

Here are a few more:

here are some other projects:

Collage
I came across this wonderful quote by Henri Nouwen and it is so appropriate for December.

ATCs

I only worked on one set of cards (Christmas trees) this past week, although I have a number to work on this week.

Photography

Here are a couple of photos of the sky today:

AEDM

Leah at "Creative Every Day" hosts this special challenge every November and I have participated for several years. My project for this month has been to carve a stmp each day, which I have done.
Here are a few from this week:

This morning though, my creative output began with writing . I had been working on a new chapter I had to add to a novella I am working on, when I realized that there had to be a gift the woman brought and I wanted it to have a message for the main character. Well, I could have just imagined one, but instead, I actually made the artwork for the story.I had been inspired from an ATC that I had received from "ArtSteph" - loved it. I knew it would work for the gift..
Here it is:

It is one of my favourite quotes.
