Shadow Shot Sunday

New snow, delicate shadows. I had to get a few shots to highlight this combination from earlier in the week.

As I was going into the house, I couldn't resist the shadow cast by the top of our mailbox. I love hearts!

Shadow Shot Sunday

After 2 very warm days we are back to blowing winds and flurries, with more snow on the way! So I thought I would look back on warmer shadows in relief!
As we are trying to decide where to go for March Break I was looking back at our Mexico trip last year. Here are a few more shadows from that trip:

Shadow Shot Sunday

More snow! The snow banks are piling up! I went out early this afternoon to look for shadows and found SNOW and more snow.
I did get a few shadows though. Here's our backyard - Santa locked in snow!

A shot of the end of the driveway:

Shadow Shot Sunday

What a bright beautiful morning it was today! I went out to get the papers and the sun was shining, there were beautiful clouds in the sky

and great shadows! Of course, I went back and got my camera!

This the view from our front walk - this is our huge tree!

This is a view of our driveway - note the piles of snow!

I took these from the back porch yesterday of our neighbours driveway - loved the shadows!

February Calendar

(Around noon today from my front door)

Hard to believe we are already into February! With this bonus day (and it is still blowing and snowing outside, altho we didn't get as much snow here as predicted), I have had a chance to do some art and catch up a bit. I finished my February calendar for the challenge at The Kathryn Wheel. I am really enjoying the creating and the journalling for the month.

Here is January's calendar (well, half of it!) , completed for most of the days

and February's, waiting to be journalled!

Wishcasting Wednesday

On a day when I should be at work, the blizzard- like conditions in much of southern Ontario and the northern States have pretty much closed down many businesses and schools. Thankfully!

I have not participated much in Wishcasting Wednesday, but this morning, with the luxury of extra time, I thought I would visit at Jamie Ridler's wishcasting. The question she posed really struck me:

What burden do you wish to put down?

Lately the double burden of too much stuff and too much weight has really begun to weigh me down. I have started to do something - Biggest Loser at work which offers support and a chance to win $500, and also getting ride of some stuff. But the process is slow. The studio I had hoped to have by now, is still a storage room. My blood pressure that I hoped to have a bit more under control still fluctuates.

So, I wish to put more effort into getting out from under the burden of clutter and weight. I must add exercise and be more aggressive in attacking "stuff"!

Be sure to visit the wonderful wishcasters at Jamie Ridler's Studio. As Jamie says:

"You can be a maker of magic and a tender of wishes. It’s easy. Answer the wish prompt above on your blog. Support wishes by visiting other participants, It’s that simple. There is great power in wishing together."
