Photo Challenges

Photo Challenges for Thursday!

I have just discovered  2 new photo challenges - Thursday Challenge and Little Things Thursday.

Each encourages us to share photos that reflect a theme (colourful for the first) or little things that delight (the second).

The first flowers that have bloomed this week in our garden applies to both:

Can't wait for the tulips to bloom!

I am also returning to this favourite photo challenge.

Time to share once again skies above us, for Sky Watch Friday.

The darker clouds were rolling in!

ABC Wednesday - P and WOYWW

This week the focus is on P for ABC Wednesday.

P is for Paint, paper, print making and photographs - all of which I used to create my journal page.

WOYWW
Wednesdays is also the day to share our workspaces at "Stamping Ground" - the fun meme hosted by Julia.

My table was covered - with papers and paint and scraps as I worked on a new quote. The photos were taken from my garden last summer.

Journal Play

Journal Play

Today I needed to play in my journal. I had 2 quotes I've been wanting to use and so created these 2 pages.

Shadow Shot Sunday

This morning the sun was shining, the temperature had warmed and there were sharp shadows to be found.

Soon, these dried-up leftovers from last year will be replaced by greenery.

Be sure to check here for wonderful shadows from around the world.

Faces and a Journal Page

Art it Friday

I discovered Kim's "Art It Friday- Show Your Face" today - a weekly challenge to share portraits created in the week past.
I have missed creating faces and even art the past few weeks as my husband has been ill and then in hospital for 12 days. He is home now and I really need to create more often.

This was the first face, in watercolour, that I created today:

I had admired Tracy Woodsford's journal page  when I visited PPF and wanted to create a journal spread as well, using one of the (many!) quotes I collect.

When I read this quote by C.S. Lewis I knew it was the one to use:
You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.

ABC Wednesday -O and WOYWW

This week it is O at ABC Wednesday.

O is for oil pastels

The oil pastels with the landscape I created

I received an art kit a while ago and I've decided to start using up some of the supplies.

Oil pastels can be messy though. My fingers after rubbing the pastel on the paper.:

Be sure to check here to see how others around the world focused on O.

WOYWW

Each week we are encouraged to share our work spaces for WOYWW - the fun meme hosted at "Stamping Ground".

Here is my art table after completing the o;i pastel landscape.

ABC Wednesday and WOYWW

This week the letter N is our focus at ABC Wednesday.

N is for numbers

Here are stickers and foam letters that I used to create a journal page. Numbers are everywhere and necessary. I just had some fun with them, rather than work on my taxes or balance my chequebook!

WOYWW

Each week at "Stamping Ground" bloggers from all around the world share their workspaces, where they create. WOYWW is hosted by Julia and is such a fun meme.

This morning I created a background

and then used the numbers shown above to create a journal page. I stamped, used a stencil and added stickers.Just played really.

ABC Wednesday and WOYWW

This week at ABC Wednesday our letter of interest is M.

M is for markers - those fun art tools for adding colour. There are so many different kinds but my favourites are sharpies. Not only are they permanent colour, but they come in different sizes.

Bloom is my OLW for 2015 and I am starting a series of cards for quotes on the word. I created this first card with just markers.

The other cards are part of a challenge on gratitudes ( 30 Days of Gratitude) that I am taking part in. Each day I create a card and then list 5 things I am grateful for on the back.

Here are a couple that I used markers on:

For Apr. 6

For Apr. 7

WOYWW

As I created the cards this afternoon, I grabbed my camera and captured my dining room table where I was working on the cards. Sharing one's workspace is the weekly meme at "Stamping Ground", Julia's wonderful blog.

Full Pink Moon Dreamboard

I used to create full moon dreamboards regularly for several years and found them a way to look to the month ahead. I still create a dreamboard for each new season.
Jamie Ridler hosts the creations of dreamboards and much information to create them

This month I decided I needed to renew this tradition - to focus on the questions as I pulled phrases, words and pictures and then create a dreamboard.April 4th was the Full Mink Moon.

This month I focused on these questions:

What dreams need tending?   What is stirring in your heart?

This is the board I created:

Bloom is my OLW and after a webinar last night on Maya Angelou the phrase "Dream Big" kept playing in my mind. It made it to the dreamboard. I aim to write and create daily.

I need to embrace healthy habits and dance more. But I must embrace or seize the day - carpe diem!

Shadow Shot Sunday

This is Easter weekend and what better shadows than from lilies - in this case, Calla lilies.
Very delicate shadows to be sure, but lovely.

To those who celebrate Easter - Happy Easter!
