ART on Friday
Another week has gone by - already the middle of January. Like many parts of the U.S., we face severe cold and snow this weekend. A good time to get some reading and creating in for sure!
Here are a few challenges I worked on this week.
Mary Oliver
I was shocked to hear of the poet Mary Oliver's death yesterday. She has penned so many beautiful poems. One quote from her that I love bears repeating:
Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
Another of her quotes I turned into a journal page:
Here is a link to more information about her life and work.
Take a Word Challenge
The theme at Take a Word Challenge this week was "Green and Blue". When I saw this quote I knew it would work with the colour theme.
Tag Tuesday
The theme at Tag Tuesday is "Mail, postmarks or Postage stamps"
I have hundreds of used postage stamps, so decided to use a few of these and created two tags.
FOCUS
My OLW is Focus and here is my second card.

ART on Friday
The first Friday of the New Year - a perfect time to start fresh. I have resolved to make sure that I make time to create more this year - both art and writing. I need to focus on what makes me happy and ensure I just do it.
This week I started with creating my OLW canvas - to help me focus on the word all through the year.
My One Little Word is (appropriately) is FOCUS. (Check here to read how it found me!)
I am starting a new project - a 52 card challenge, to create 52 cards to highlight my OLW..
I found some round playing cards (about 3" in diameter) and thought they would be fun to work with this year.
Here's the first.
Tag Tuesday
The first challenge of the year I joined was for Tag Tuesday. The theme for the next two weeks is:
New Beginnings.
Here are two tags I created:
CED
The theme for January at Create Every Day is Goals.
Although I don't do resolutions, but rather pick a word to represent the year, I do create a seasonal vision board, which does help me focus on the season ahead.
Here is my winter vision board:
Happy New Year everyone!
May 2019 be filled with creativity, happiness and good health!

ABC Wednesday - M is for Mask
This week at ABC Wednesday, M is our focus.
M is for Mask -which has several meanings. With Hallowe'en soon here, masks will be in abundance, from simple ones to cover the eyes, or ones to hide a face
To mask means to conceal or disguise.
In art, a mask is used as a screen.
For health reasons, we wear a mask to protect and for sleep, we use a C-PAP to help keep our airways open.
I could not choose just one quote - so I created 4. art tags with my mask carved stamp:
Be sure to check here to see what others around the world did for M.
