Sunday Weekly Wrap-Up
This past week I focused on two February challenges: 29 Faces and Pattern Play. Both are fun, quick and easy to fit in during the day. I am trying to spend more time writing and reading so these challenges allow for a break from that.
29 Faces:
I have been using faces from magazines for inspiration and have tried sketching:
and watercolour
Pattern Play
Here are three of my latest:
using paper scraps
using gelli paper scraps
doodling
Photography
We have a winter wonderland outside this morning - icy trees and a layer of ice on the ground. I think we will be staying inside!
From the porch.

Sunday Weekly Wrap-Up
I have not been creating as much art as I would have liked the past couple of weeks, but I have been writing more.
Here are a few things I have worked on:
Author quote
I am continuing creating author quote posters, for my inspiration as well as to post on my writing blog. Here is a great one from Jane Yolen:
ATCs
I am working on a PAT (where you create a card with a theme specified by 4 other people. Here are the first 2 (steampunk terrier and fairy)
Here are a three more:
Let's Tangle
I finally got to doing a few more tangles from this fun book:
Printemps
Using the 4 I have done in one tile:
Sketch This
As well, finally did a couple of pages in this book as well this week. I love collage so this was enjoyable, and relaxing.
(add to a moustache)
(create a quilt from papers from a magazine)
Photography
I had to share a couple of photos of the orchid plant my husband got me for my birthday. The plant is doing well as I just admire it!
Have a great creative week ahead!

Sunday Weekly Wrap-Up
Time again to share some of the art I have worked on in the past week.
Journal 52
I plan to take part this challenge throughout the year. This past week's theme was "Just be"
As my word of the year (OLW), I created this journal page as well as adding some quotes.
Let's Tangle
I have started to work through Kathleen Murray's interesting book "Let's Tangle". There are step-by-step instructions for creating over 100 zentangles. I aim to do a few a week.
Here are a couple I had fun with:
Knightsbridge:
Crescent Moon:
Sketch This
I have also started sketching on random pages in "Sketch This" and it is fun and relaxing to do. Here are the latest ones I've done.
Photography
I've taken some photos of skies lately - some of the cloud formations are lovely.

Sunday Weekly Wrap-Up
First Sunday of the new year! First weekly wrap-up. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.I needed the long break and am now ready to return to my blog.
I take part in ROW 80 - a writing challenge that provides support and accountability. It helped my writing last year. There are 4 rounds of 80 days and at the beginning of each round, you set the writing goals you want to achieve. My goals are here.
If it works for my writing, I thought why not for my art? So after I wrote my goals for writing today, I wrote out what I want to achieve in my art for the next 80 days.
1.Create daily.
2. Work on stamp/quote cards.
3. Work on zentangles through "Let's Tangle" by Kathleen Murray
4. Work through "Sketch This" - might be fun to have a similar community sharing as "Wreck This Journal" hosted by Jamie Ridler (more later)
5.Go through 3 art/craft books - one a month and try a weekly project from the books.
6. Create collages for my picture book script.
7. Work on using up as many of my supplies as possible!
What goals are you working on?
One Little Word
Many people chose a word for the year. Mine is BLOOM. Here is a post I wrote on choosing it.
Full Wolf Moon Dreamboard
Tonight is the Full Wolf Moon and once again I have created a dreamboard. The question for consideration was: "What are you hungry for?"
I want to grow as a writer and artist this year. I have dabbled for too long. I need to step out and work harder and seek opportunities.
I was even able to include my last 2 words - embrace and joy!
Winter Vision Board
Just before Christmas I created my vision board (winter intentions) for the winter season. I have been doing this for some time. and along with the monthly dreamboards help focus on what I want to accomplish.
ATCs
Over the holidays I created a few sets of ATCs. I have a few swaps left to complete and then I plan to take a break from taking part in swaps. The postage has gone up and I have many other projects I want to complete.
Gelli prints with stamps
Bird APcs (6s)

Weekly Wrap-Up
My wrap-up of the week didn't happen Sunday - but here are a few things I have finished this past week.
The end of November say a completion of:
1. NaNoWriMo - I was able to write 50,000 words and worked on several writing projects. It has spurred my desire to keep writing.
2. PiBoIdMo - I produced 30 picture book ideas and actually wrote a first draft for one of the ideas.
3. AEDM - I finished my zen page
and almost carved a stamp a day.
Here are a few more:
here are some other projects:
Collage
I came across this wonderful quote by Henri Nouwen and it is so appropriate for December.
ATCs
I only worked on one set of cards (Christmas trees) this past week, although I have a number to work on this week.
Photography
Here are a couple of photos of the sky today:

Sunday Weekly Wrap-up
Time for a sharing of my art explorations from the past week - a little bit of everything.
Journal 52
I follow this weekly challenge but I haven't participated for a while. this past week's challenge appealed to me as I just received this quote from Suzanne Lieurance - her advice is to say this every day on waking.
What a wonderful way to start the day!
Stamps
I've been trying to carve a stamp a day and I have only missed a few days. These are some of my Christmasy ones.
(made me realize I need new stamp pads!)
ATCs
I created a couple of sets of ATCs this week.
Christmas ZENS
PAT cards
ZEN Project
I have completed more zens.
Photography
Here are a couple of photos from the week - it was a snowy one! And now the snow is gone!
