ART on Friday

This week I've continued with the A to Z April Challenge - creating art tags with affirmations every day.
Here are a few of my favourites:

Art TaGS

Besides the daily art tags I've been creating for the A to Z challenge, I also created another tag for the ABC Wednesday challenge - which was M.

Colour Me Positive

This week's theme at LuLu Art  is happiness and the quote by Buddha is perfect. The additional challenge was to include drips of paint. I used the cut end of celery to make the flowers.

ATCs

This week I worked on another APC swap - using used stamps and quotes.

52 Card Pick Up
This week the theme was gift. This quote by Bill Keane was perfect.

Faces
I did a quick sketch of a face this morning.

Photography
The saddest photo I took was this week of the abandoned nest on our porch - after 2 nights with no mother and below freezing weather:

My hand shook when I realized there were three eggs. I will miss those baby birds.

Friday has arrived once again - and with it a brand new month.

Colour Me Positive

This week the challenge at LuLu Art focuses on hope. Three quotes appealed to me so I included them all in my journal spread. The additional challenge was to use glitter!

Art Tags

I have started a new daily challenge - A to Z April Challenge and I am focusing on affirmations, with art cards. Here are the first 3 for A.

A is for ACT

I also created a tag for ABC Wednesday - L is for lines.

I was a week behind with this facebook challenge - making cards for "Magic" and "Perfect".

APCs

I created another set of APCs for a swap - this time with the  theme famous men, using a used stamp.

Faces

This week I only created one - a quick sketch.

Photography

The robins have returned to the nest after a week away - must be Apr. 1st move in date!

And the first flower!

Loved the texture of peeling paint in a basement window.

Time once again to share what I've been working on through the week. Today was a busy day so I'm a wee bit late to post.

Colour Me Positive

The theme this week for "Colour Me Positive" (hosted at LuLu Art) is "Expanding yourself". Take small steps, but take those steps, give it a try. The extra challenge is to use wings.

I wanted something stark and abstract, with a limited palate.

This week I only did one face - of my father who would have been 93 today.

This has been a stressful week.
On Wednesday, my hubby finally had the pacemaker inserted. He stayed overnight in the hospital and then was home yesterday. He seems to have weathered it all fairly well, but he needs rest and to be careful. He will have 3 weeks at home.
Art has been a blessing let me tell you. here are a few things I squeezed in this week:

Colour Me Positive
Each week LuluArt posts a new quote and additional challenge. This week it was a quote by Jack Canfield with the added challenge of using cut out words (I used magazines for this)

Getting past fear seemed to me to be climbing a mountain to get to the other, freer side.

THis February challenge at "Sojourner" is forcing me to draw and paint faces, something I really need to practice. I am enjoying it though.

I am just making it in under the wire for Art on Friday.
I have been fighting a sore throat/headaches all week and today's was wicked. I did shake it but then (since my hubby is home til his pacemaker is put in next Wed.) we were off shopping, then supper and finally a date night of watching "The Martian". (excellent movie!)
So I am finally getting to do this weekly blog sharing of some of the things I have done this week.

Colour Me Positive
At Lulu Art, the new theme is on "Heart" with the additional challenge of using collage. Since I enjoy collage and mixed media this was fun to do.

Since the theme for my cards this month is hearts and love, I made a few for some challenges (check my post here on all of the challenges - lots of great ones to take part in)

It's the end of the first week of February and time to share some of the art I have worked on this week.

Colour Me Positive
The new quote posted for this ongoing challenge is an important one.

It immediately made me think of the book "Wonder" - the amazing book by R.J. Palacio that spawned the "Choose Kind" movement. We definitely need more kindness in the world!
