ART on Friday (on Saturday!)

Yesterday flew by with appointments and resting from a cold. So here now are a few things I worked on this week.

Sunday Postcard Art
The theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art was "hands"
Here's my postcard:

Journal Page

I had collected a few other quotes so thought I'd create a journal page for hands as well:

Take a Word Challenge
The theme at Take a Word Challenge was "Flight"

29 Faces
I have been very slack about drawing faces this week. Here is my favourite:

Harvest Full Moon Dreamboard
Iused to create a full moon dreamboard every month a few years ago. I found it a valuable exercise to focus on dreams and wishes for the month ahead. Jamie Ridler hosts classes in creating dramboards.
The question to focus on while creating the dreamboard was " What dreams do you wish to bring to fruition? Here was my response.

ART on Friday

Hard to believe that it has been almost four months since I posted anything, let alone Art on Friday. I took an extended break - from blogging here and even from art. Life overtook everything - and i am now ready to return some former routines - including blogging, creating and taking part in art challenges. I really have missed that, although I have visited blogs as often as I could.
I know I need to create and I've missed that.
My art room is in a state of upheaval right now - but my goal is to get it organized by the end of September.

Here are a few things I created this week and the challenges I took part in.

29 Faces
This challenge for September encourages us to create a face a day. Here are a couple I did this week.

Sunday Postcard Art
The theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art is "Changing seasons"

Take a Word Challenge
The theme at Take a Word Challenge is "Doorway"

Creative Every Day
The challenge at Creative Every Day this month is "figure"

Journal Page
The theme of changing seasons netted a number of interesting quotes that I had to use. Here's a journal page I created:

Art Sharing - a little late!

We already have some snow - and now more is on the way tomorrow!
I am a wee bit late for my usual ART on Friday share, but I did not want to let two weeks go by - so here are a few pieces I worked on this past week.

ABC Wednesday
I missed last week's E entry so here it is:
E is for Extrordinary

Take a Word Challenge
Last week at Take a Word Challenge, the theme was "Year of the Pig"

Try it on Tuesday
The theme last week week at TIOT was "Romance".

ART on Sunday

I usually post this on Fridays - but the past few days I have been working on finishing a writing piece for a competition tomorrow (AND ALMOST DONE!.)
I needed a break today so finished off a couple of art challenges.

Here's a few of the things I was working on this week:

29 Faces
Over the past few years I have participated in 29 faces - a month long challenge to practice drawing faces. I am cutting out some interesting faces from magazines and using them as models.
Here are my first 3:

Sunday Postcard
The theme for Sunday Postcard Art last week was "Ballet". I had already carved the ballet slippers stamp so used it for this postcard:

Tag Tuesday
The theme at Tag Tuesday is "Hearts"

Take a Word Challenge
The theme at Take a Word Challenge is "roses"

Here is my latest focus card:

ART on Friday

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day.
Here are a few things I made this week. Three challenges I participated in:

Take a Word Challenge
At Take a Word Challenge the theme was "Bird"

Tag Tuesday
For Tag Tuesday this week,we are asked to "use a quote". This is one of my favourites.

29 Faces
Here are a couple of faces I sketched:

Mini Collage Book
Here's a new collage I created this week. They're quick and they're fun - and I get to use up scraps of paper.

ART on Friday - on Saturday

Time once again to share some of what I have been working on this week -although I am a bit late.

There were a number of challenges I participated in this week:

Sunday Postcard Art
This week at Sunday Postcard Art the theme was "fruits and vegetables"

Take a Word Challenge
The word this week at Take a Word Challenge was TIME.
I couldn't decide on the quote so I made 2 pieces.

29 Faces
Here are 2 faces I sketched for the 29 Faces challenge. I find it easier to work from a model, but using a sharpie doesn't leave room for corrections.

Try it on Tuesday - Love Theme
In a nod to Valentine's Day and the climate of our times, I created this collage, with a quote that really says it all, from Martin Luther King Jr.

Mini Collage
I also added another page to my mini collage journal.

ART on Friday

Another week has sped by and it is time once again to share a few pieces I have completed this week.
I enjoy several challenges which post themes either weekly or monthly. It gives an opportunity to challenge oneself and interact with other bloggers.

Sunday Postcard Art
The theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art  was "Books and Reading" - one of my favourite pastimes/passions.

Linking this postcard as well with More Mixed Media Challenge - with the theme "Anything Goes"

Tag Tuesday
The theme for the next two weeks at Tag Tuesday is "Paris". I've never been but would love to go sometime. I studied French all the way through school and having passing ability.

29 Faces
Here are the last 3 faces I have drawn for the challenge at "29 Faces"

Mini Scrap Notebook
Here are 2 collages I did this week in my small collage notebook:

Full Moon Dreamboard
This week there was a full moon and I decided it was necessary to create a full Moon dreamboard for the Full Harvest Moon.
Jamie Ridler hosts monthly dreamboard creations and the question she encourages us to focuson during the creation of it was:
"What dreams do you wish to bring to fruition?"

As I searched through my stash of words and images,  I was surprised to find several of my past OLW - Shine, Joy,Bloom, as well as the word for this year - Cultivate.
With just a few more months til the end of the year, it is well past time to cultivate those dreams - creativity, health, faith and home.

ART on Friday

A new month begins and a return to blogging. I have taken an extended time away from posting, from writing, from art. And I missed it - so it was the right thing to do.

I am returning with my regular feature "ART on Friday" and although I have not created much this week, I have a few things to share.

Collage
I haven't done many collages at all this summer so decided to work again in my mimi scraps notebook.
Here's a simple collage of scraps.

29 Faces/ 365 Challenge
A new daily challenge at "29 Faces" has started and the theme to begin with is Princess Di. Hard to believe it has been 20 years since she passed away.
I am using my 365 challenge book to create the faces this month.

Vintage
The theme of Old Fashioned at "Take a Word Challenge"

and Vintage at Mixed Media Monthly Challenge,

had me creating this card:

Tag Tuesday
The theme at Tag Tuesday is "Back to School"
