I was surprised that there were not more S artists that I knew. Soooo - here are 3:
Georges Seurat: (1859-91) a French post-Impressionist painter
Alfred Sisley : (1839-99) a painter born in Paris, of British parents, and was an Impressionist landscape painter
John Singer Sargent: (1856-1925) an American, who painted hundreds of portraits, mainly Paris

Well, they are great ones even if only a few. Interesting because Gina at Pagan Sphinx did her whole post for the S Day on Seurat! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

I do love that Seurat, wonderful colours. Great S post.
I quite like all of those artists, though I can only take a very little of Seurat because I don't find this type of post-impressionist art restful. I do prefer Sisley for the tranquility.

Three very different artists - I do like Seurat's work.
I always have to stifle a laugh when I see those bustled women in Seurat's paintings!
I wouldn't mind having one of these on the wall - perhaps NO.2 ?
I do love Sargent's portraits.
