ABC Wednesday - R is for really awesome 'rtists

Once again it is time to focus on letter of the week for ABC Wednesday. This week our letter is R.
Continuing with the artist theme, I was actually really surprised at the number of "R"artists. Here are a few:

Rembrandt: - the 17th Dutch artist

Renoir: -the French painter

Sir Joshua Reynolds: - the 18th century English portrait painter

Rodin: -the sculptor, most famous for his "Thinker"

Rubens: -17th century Flemish painter of the Baroque era

Rousseau: -a Post-Impressionist painter, well known for his primitive style

and of course:

Norman Rockwell: -the popular 20th century American painter and illustrator, most famous for his covers for "The Saturday Evening Post"

Be sure to visit the great participants here.

Another great group of painters, Bev! Definitely some of my favorites here, but then there always are!! Great artists for the R Day! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

know them all - Reynolds least well.
Rodin you just HAVE to see in person; photos do not do the sculpture justice.
I've been to the Rockwell museum in new england; great place.

So wonderful that you included Norman Rockwell, Bev. He wasn't Rembrandt or Renoir, but he certainly had a devoted following, and probably still does.
A very artistic post for R day.

What a great - and original - take on the letter 'R'! Plenty of Rtists with R names as you say!

I always rather liked Rodin's Kiss, and as for the others, well, isn't it odd how you can almost tell the artist's nationality from the style he used?

On behalf of the team, thanks for taking part in ABC Wednesday this week! :)
