We already have some snow - and now more is on the way tomorrow!

This has been a busy couple of weeks - with birthdays, appointments, a tour and then our anniversary yesterday.

Sunday Postcard Art
The theme at Sunday Postcard Art this week is "seashells"

I had some old paper placemats with seashells and I have been reading Anne Morrow Lindbergh's memoir "Gift From the Sea" - seemed like an obvious match!

The theme at TIOT is "For the Boys". I gathered up some photos of my two boys and came up with this piece.

The first Friday in May brings a return to sharing of some of my artwork this week - although I am posting a bit late.

I am taking part in several challenges this month - two daily ones and several weekly ones.

 Miniature May
This daily challenge asks us to create small pieces of art -smaller than  5x5. I chose to create 5x5 mini collages.

The theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art is "Mail Art". I have lots of used stamps, so this was fun to do.

I created this as my daily collage today for Miniature May.

Photography
Flowers are blooming in our gardens - as are dandelions - so I thought I'd get a few photos and then share.

I saw a dove in our backyard but before I could zoom in, it flew off.

I couldn't decide on the quote so I made 2 pieces.

29 Faces
Here are 2 faces I sketched for the 29 Faces challenge. I find it easier to work from a model, but using a sharpie doesn't leave room for corrections.

Try it on Tuesday - Love Theme

In a nod to Valentine's Day and the climate of our times, I created this collage, with a quote that really says it all, from Martin Luther King Jr.

Here are a few things I have worked on this week.There are many challenges each week and I've chosen three this week to do.

Sunday Postcard Art
This week's theme at "Sunday Postcard Art" was "Secret Garden"
I had originally decided to use a number of flower stamps, but when i found this quote, I created this:

Take a Word Challenge
At "Take a Word Challenge" the theme was music.
I had some used stamps of country singers and the quote by Faith Hill worked well.

TIOT
The theme at "Try it on Tuesday" was "Fire and Ice" - or using warm and cool colours."
I have a lot of scrap painted papers and decided to do a cool and a warm page in my small collage book.

Inspiration Quote Card
To help me focus on my OLW (One Little Word)- More -  I am making a set of inspiration cards. Here is the second one I created this week. (The first you can check here which I created for ABC Wednesday)
