Photo Challenges - Sky Watch and Messy Little Details

Time to share our skies! With a bit of cloud and some gray, the skies have a bit more character.

Be sure to visit here to see awesome skies from around the world.

Messy Little Details

Carolyn Jane hosts this fun meme. As she says :
"I want to invite you to join me in sharing photos of those odd little things you just have to photograph, things that inspire you, thrill you, make you laugh or make you wonder."

I couldn't resist this photo of one of our tomatoes - it was fine yesterday, almost ready to be picked, and then today some little animal had eaten half of it!

ABC Wednesday - G

This week at ABC Wednesday, the letter is G.

My ATCs this week are on:

Lou Gehrig - a great baseball player for the New York Yankees, who died much too young of the disease that would be named for him

and

Sir Humphrey Gilbert - British soldier and explorer, who travelled to Canada in the late 16th century

Be sure to check here for how others around the world solved the challenge.

Sunday Weekly Wrap-Up

This past week I was slowly getting back into creating daily as we were coming back from holidays away and once home,  my husband still had a few days off.

Zen Cards
While away I was able to create a few zentangle cards. They were relaxing and only took a few minutes each.

My favourite:

A few more:

Collages
I completed 2 collages this week - one was my Full Moon Dreamboard:

(See here for more info on its creation and link to learn more about creating dreamboards)

I also created a 7 Word Autobiography. Such fun:

Shadow Shot Sunday

Shadows abound where ever you go. While in Lake George and Saratoga last week I did not have to search far for shadows!

Horse in shadow - there are so many of these decorated horses throughout Saratoga Springs. Loved this one.

The infileld , w here the horse Go For Wand is buried.

Had to include this photo of Tom Durkin - in shadow. We were part of a lucky group of 6 who got to enter his booth at the racetrack while he called the third race - the highlight of my trip to Saratoga. What a sense of humour and goodwill he has.
)If you get a chance check, out his calling of the race where "Arghh" ran - priceless!)

Collage and gelli printing fun

It has taken me a few days to get back to creating, but it was having fun with the gelli plate that helped. I had so much fun over 2 days, that my hands were covered in paint.

But I had a nice pile of varied papers to use.

While visiting Julie's blog "Balzer Designs", I was intrigued with her challenge to create a 7 Word Autobiography.
The 7 words came quickly "Love to teach, but time to retire". The hard part was finding the words or letters in some cases!

Flowers, Flowers, Flowers!

This time of year this quote by Emerson is so true. Our gardens are full of colour and beauty. Have to share a few from this morning.

Saratoga Racetrack is celebrating 150 years in operation. This special horse statue was commissioned to celebrate this milestone.

Dream

With the Quote "seize the day" percolating for a while, and looking at the dictionary tonight for "D" possibilities, the word DREAM fit both challenges. They worked together.

(Gelli paper background, handmade paper cloud, a photo of myself at 28 - when dreams and living were big - need to recapture that!)

Sunday Weekly Wrap-Up

This week was hectic as I was preparing for my teacher yard sale. I was told that many teachers would be on holidays - and they were right. Not as much stuff went altho I made over $200.
So half of the stuff went back in the house - to wait for another Saturday. Then it will be gone for good.
Bittersweet to see it go - but the few teachers who did come were happy with the prices and what they bought.

Collage Obsession/ Daily Paper Prompt
Tammy at Daisy Yellow continues with her Daily Paper Prompt and I am already behind. Today when I looked at Day 4  and saw it was flowers, I knew I could combine this with the challenge at Collage Obsession - gardening.
Once I had the quote, the rest fell in place. The background I watercolour and the flowers are gelli papers.

Day 3 of the Daily paper challenge was "Drips" - what fun to drip paint and make a mess!

Tangle A Day
I am really enjoying the Tangle a Day challenge at Jane Monk's blog. I have been using her sting and some of her tangles. Some are very challenging and I need to keep practicing.
Here are 4 more.

ATCs
I created 2 henna hands for a swap this week - fun to do. Not your typical ATC swap.

I have a few swaps I still must work on the next few days.

Just a note - I will be taking a break from the computer for 10 days. Time to spend some time with my hubby and take some day trips and some rest and relaxation for him.
See you in 2 weeks!
