Wreck This Journal!/ Postcard Friendship Friday

Today begins a new adventure - "Wreck This Journal" (by Keri Smith), the Next Chapter blogging group, headed by Jamie Ridler.

It promises to be fun, creative, and take us places we may not want to go! I hope I am up to the challenge. Not matter - let the adventure begin!

My first step was to write my name - in many different ways. Had no white - made block letters - then the letters are white inside! As I worked down the page I realized I was placing my name in the wrong sections - but wait - Jamie said there was no wrong, no mistakes. This definitely is my kind of project!

I thought I would peek in the book. I had kept it in the bag since I bought it. I was very good about not looking too soon!
The first page I opened to said "break the spine". How could I do that?? Books are my friends, they are to be treated with respect. So, I closed the book and visited a few blogs. Jennifer set hers on fire! If she could do that, surely I could bend the book back a little.

So I gingerly took the book and snapped it. "Ouch!" I then apologized to the book.

I have a feeling that this won't be the worst I do to it!

As I am into report card writing mod now, just taking a few minutes free time a day to play with this book and visit the blogs of a wonderful group of women, will be a very welcome break.

And I may not be able to post pictures for a while until I get the upload terminal (have no idea what it is really called) fixed. In my rush to upload some pictures tonight, I pushed the plug into the computer. Ughhhh!

I have many more wonderful blogs to visit and fellow adventurers to meet! Looking forward to this very different adventure!

Here's to a great beginning. Since you're in report card mode, I say give yourself a Wreck this Journal A+ in advance. Just plaster that mark right on the front page. Then you'll already know that whatever you do, you rocked it!

My favorite thing about this is, there is wrong way of doing it! That in itself gives us full permission for zany, unexpected fun! :)

Wow, you broke the spine! That's great! I'm saving that one for a while. I love that Jennifer made a video of her burning the book.

I did the name page today and totally felt like I was doing it wrong the whole time.

I keep telling myself that there's no wrong way, anyway I do it is the right way.

I like the way you snapped the book - and apologized!

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words.
This whole journey I began this year has been new for me. It took me a while before I actually came forward in the Next Chapter - 12 Secrets. But it has been an upward learning curve. I especially like the comaderie here.
Thanks again!

I did the "dinner" page on Day 2 - and although it would have been helpful to me, I just couldn't bring myself to break the poor little thing's spine. Knowing there is a day where it actually tells me to do it makes me feel a little better. I think that is a great and brave way to start, though. Shows you mean business!

Also - nice to see another follower of True North and CED! Glad to 'meet" you.

This sounds like a fun and exciting project! I'm going to check it out too:) Blogging is such a nice way to take a 'break'! I think it keeps me sane. Hope that Report Card writing is going well and that you're almost done! WHen does school end for you? School doesn't end for another 5 weeks here:)

Chiming in a bit late but....

Had to laugh over the apology...I tried very hard to break the spine on mine but it truly would NOT break..seriously...and I keep trying!!

I imagine once your loose from the bondage of report-card writing you'll morph into a wrecking-machine!! ;)

Thank you for stopping by the Tree House, and leaving me a message which, I must tell you, made me feel better. I think it's appropriate you are beginning a wonderful journey with the project "Wreck This Journal".... Hmmmm maybe I should tag along with all of you. I saw something about this journal before and thought it was a great idea. This could be some good therapy for both of us. BTW.... my favorite teacher was my 3rd grade teacher. :-) Please stop back to visit me again. I will certainly visit you again.

Oh - you're a brave woman, going straight for the spine-breaking. I couldn't get myself to do that yet!

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a nice comment. You're right - this is a fun community!
