Wreck This Journal / Postcard Friendship Friday

This week I did not get too adventurous with the journal until this morning. I was making tea and the thought came to me that a tea bag would work wonderfully instead of coffee. (I am NOT a coffee drinker. ) So I enclosed the other pages in plastic (oh so carefully!) and then played with the wet teabag on the page.

Since I add milk to my tea, I wanted to see what would be the colour of the page with milk added to the tea. So I then spooned some tea onto the left side.

Once I got into the mood of "wrecking", I turned the page back to see what was there and I saw "FIRE". Being the careful person I am I figured this would be the perfect time to light up that page - while it was still damp!!!
So I took the book to the sink and lit up a long match and set fire to the page in several spots.

There are a few holes and rippled edges.

What fun!
Then I realized I had to head to work asap but was nervous about leaving the book in the house!
I dumped it into the recycling tub on the porch, threw a bit more water on for good measure (should have taken it into the shower!! lol) and scooted off to work.
Here I am on planning time - having to use the computer at school to upload pictures. Still no access at home!

I had to chuckle at you "carefully" wrecking your journal by putting plastic between the pages. Being messy is not easy for clean, tidy people! I like your idea of the teabag.

Love it! Your wreckage feels like a well thought-out science experiment. Mwa-ha-ha! What else will the mad scientist come up with?

I'm waiting on the *coffee* page until I make more tea. Too funny about protecting the other pages from the tea wreck! YeeHawww!

What a wonderful way to combine water and fire for wrecking! Simply fantastic!

LOL! I subconsciously did the same thing! I burned the page while it was still wet from the coffee. :)

Oooh, I never thought about protecting the other pages while getting certain pages wet -- That might make it easier to me get portions of my book wet - THANKS!

I also like that you lit the damp page on fire. Excellent!

Burning a tea page is a great idea. I laughed at the part where you put the book in your recycle tub so you could go to work!

Thanks for stopping by. Visiting others' blogs is habit forming!
But hearing from others is such a treat.
Sherrileigh - I worried that I would come back to no porch for most of the day! Guess where I checked first when I came home?? lol
Take care all

I love that you protected the other pages... I have been reluctant in the food/beverage arena thus far. You give me courage! I can find a way! :)

Hi Beverley! Thanks so much for stopping by to visit Treasures Found and commenting on my post with the giveaway. Only four more messages before we are in double prize packages!

I love the Jamie Ridler experiences. I was on board to do the last one, but life had a funny way of takin gme way off course and I didn't make it past chapter three! I bought the Wreck this Journal for a friend of mine who owns an art studio. I don't know if she is aware of the group doing this....it looks like a heap of fun. I think that it would be fun for my kids to do this summer. I might have to go and get it.

My sister is coming to the Olympics to watch the curling. That is a favorite of hers. She is trying to find a place to stay at this point. That is proving difficult! I sure hope it is a fantastic time for her and her husband.

Thanks again for stopping by. I always enjoy when I have new commenters, particularly from all over the globe!

Enjoy the day!
