As we near the end of the alphabet, finding something for these last letters becomes a bit more of a challenge.
My first thought was xylophone. I have a wooden one I use at school (unfortunately was not able to access it this week and besides - I am still not able to download any new photos as my computer still awaits surgery!!)
Hence I found a picture as close to it as possible. I love the tone of it and it is fairly easy for my students to enjoy playing.
At least once a year we borrow a set of different types of xylophones and use them with our choir at Christmas time. What fun!
Here is Wikipedia's description:
"The xylophone (from the Greek words ξύλον - xylon, "wood" + φωνή - phone, "voice", meaning "wooden sound") is a musical instrument in the percussion family which probably originated in Slovakia.[1] It consists of wooden bars of various lengths that are struck by plastic, wooden, or rubber mallets".
Be sure to check out the other x-cellant X entries at ABC Wednesday.

I remember having a toy xylophone as a child and they still fascinate me, although I no longer have one...Nice post!
My uncle owned and played a xylophone. It's still in his house even though he passed away. He had the big one and it was fun to watch him play.
My kids had a small xylophone. I wonder what happened to it?
Nice X post!
The first Xylophone I have seen on ABC. They have a great sound and are a wonderful way to introduce music and rythmn.
I have two xylophones; I have one kid, so I couldn't do otherwise.
You are one of the few who managed a real (and nice) X, without a bit of "tweaking".
PS Thank you for the comment - you must visit Trondheim. It is an old and nice city.
Nice X post!
I choose Xylophone last year !
Thanks for your visit .
Hooray for the xylophone! I especially enjoy them in marching bads. The upright beauts always amaze me!
Thank you everyone for stopping by!
I a may have joined theABC Wed. late but I am enjoying the challenge and the real sense of community!
Thanks again.
Do take care.
I love the sounds of the xylophone.
Great X!
I too am enjoying ABC Wednesday. I just joined on letter O. I look forward to each week and I learn so much!
I keep a notepad on the desk so I can take notes!

Love Xylophones, especially the long ones they play with three sticks (don't know the proper name) in each hand. I'd never have the co-ordination.
I don't have a xylophone, though I did have one as a child, and so did my sons! They make a lovely noise. :)
It's a perfect X though! If I remember rightly, most of the ABC books when I was a child had a xylophone for X.
That is a very good X. I am sorry about your computer. How stressful would that be?
