A to Z April Challenge - C

Today is Day 3 of the "A to Z April Challenge".
I am creating 3X5" collage cards, with focus words and special quotes for each letter.

C is for Choose and choice

Life is not a race to the finish line, but rather an amble along the path, taking time to smell the roses along the way and choosing wisely as you go along.

Pause and remember-- Every moment is a choice. Every thought, word and deed is creating your future. Choose wisely and positively!
Jennifer Young

We all come into this world the same: naked, scared, and ignorant. After that grand entrance, the life we end up with is simply an accumulation of the choices we make.    Darren Hardy

Our lives are composed of a finite set of moments that we choose how to spend.
John Green

Your choices decide your fate. Take the time to make the right ones. If you make a mistake, that's fine; learn from it & don't make it again.
Robert Kiyosaki

Our future experiences will be colored by the choices we make in the present.
Noah Levine

This fork in the road happens over a hundred times a day, and it's the choices that you make that will determine the shape of your life.

A to Z April Challenge - B

Today is Day 2 of the "A to Z April Challenge"
I am creating 35" collage cards, with focus words and special quotes for each letter.

 B is for Believe

We all should believe
 - in ourselves
-in the good of others
-in equality for all
- caring for the environment
- in love
- in helping the poor

As Nike says: "Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything."

and

B is for Books

I cannot imagine a world without books. Books can take us to so many places and worlds.

Here are quotes about the value of books:

A room without books is like a body without a soul.
―
Marcus Tullius Cicero

Books are a uniquely portable magic.  Stephen King

No two persons ever read the same book.
–Edmund Wilson

We lose ourselves in books. We find ourselves there too.
–Anonymous

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.
–Dr. Seuss

Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.
–Frederick Douglas

A to Z April Challenge - A

Today begins the “A to Z April Challenge

I have decided to focus on creating 3x5 collage cards, with focus words and special quotes for each letter.

This quote by Myrna Wacknow expresses exactly why I love to create:

Art is in the doing. It isn’t important how it turns out. The process is where the pleasure, the learning and the experience take place. A day without some sort of creative endeavor is a wasted day.

A to Z Theme Reveal for 2019

Tomorrow is the deadline for the A to Z April Challenge. I have seesawed back and forth this past month about whether I’d participate or not.

I have taken part for three years and have enjoyed the process. I have done both writing and creating quote cards.

I finally decided to participate again last night, after revisiting Linda Gardiner’s blog “Pulp. Paper, & Pigment”. She is calling herself a Curious Creative – a perfect description of exploring what inspires her.

My Theme Reveal:
I too plan to be inspired each day to create. There are so many arts and crafts I am interested in and want to try, so why not explore these in April? I am looking forward to this challenge.

Last week, I did not post for E - but did create my journal page.

E is for Extraordinary

I couldn't include all the quotes I wanted to - so here are some others:

We are not called to do extraordinary thigs but to do ordinary things with extraordinary love. Jean Vanier

Be more splendid.
Be more extraordinary.
Use every moment to fill yourself up. Oprah

Why be ordinary when you can be extraordinary.  Diane Miller

ART on Sunday

I usually post this on Fridays - but the past few days I have been working on finishing a writing piece for a competition tomorrow (AND ALMOST DONE!.)
I needed a break today so finished off a couple of art challenges.

Here's a few of the things I was working on this week:

29 Faces
Over the past few years I have participated in 29 faces - a month long challenge to practice drawing faces. I am cutting out some interesting faces from magazines and using them as models.
Here are my first 3:

Sunday Postcard
The theme for Sunday Postcard Art last week was "Ballet". I had already carved the ballet slippers stamp so used it for this postcard:

Tag Tuesday
The theme at Tag Tuesday is "Hearts"

Take a Word Challenge
The theme at Take a Word Challenge is "roses"
