ABC Wednesday - A and WOYWW
Here it is - the start of the 22nd round of ABC Wednesday.
For this new round I aim to create a set of quote cards that relate to achieving more this year. MORE is my ONE Little Word and will guide me this year. (check here to see why I chose it)
I received a giant deck of cards for Christmas and my first thought was that they would make sturdy canvases.
A is for Amy - Amy Krouse Rosenthal. Amy is still inspiring me, even though she passed away too soon last March. Her picture books are amazing, her videos inspirational, especially her Ted talk.
Check here and here for more information about this exceptional woman..
Here is Amy's advice - to start this new year.

WOYWW
I am once again taking part in Julia's weekly meme at "Stamping Ground" - where she encourages us to share our work spaces and what we are working on.
As I finished the card above, I snapped a pix of my dining room table, where I was working.

Sunday Weekly Wrap-Up
The previous two weekends I was away at a retreat and so missed posting on Sundays.
This past week I was spending more time revising and writing than I did creating art. But today I worked on some collages. I just needed to get at the glue and gelli papers!
I made a few more of my stamped quote cards. Here were some of my favourites:
ICAD
I am way behind in creating ICADs but here are a few I did today:

ABC Wednesday - D and E
ABC Wednesday is that fun meme, that works its way through the alphabet, week by week. I am sharing for both D and E this week.
D is for James Dean, the actor whose promising career was tragically cut so short at age 24.
E is for Albert Einstein.
Be sure to visit here to see how others around the world focus on E.

Sunday Weekly Wrap-Up
Sunday again and I am squeezing in some computer time before we have a birthday celebration for one of my step-daughters.
I have actually had a very creative week, especially the past few days. It feels so good to play around with painted papers and collage elements. T
Here are some of the creations from this past week:
For Collage Obsession (the theme was "Double Vision"
For Artists in Blogland (Alpha Dictionary Challenge - M)
M for mandala
Joy Cards
A favourite quote by Stephen Leacock (a remarkable Canadian writer)
And 2 quotes by Mark twain
ATCs
The most fun though was Friday night and Saturday, when I took part in a Stamp-a-thon through ATCsforAll. We had to use used stamps in our creations which could be anything - ATCs, larger pieces (the world one above was done as part of this) I made well over 20 pieces - most were for swaps which thus served 2 purposes.
Here are just a few:
For Authors and poets swap
:
Dogs
These were my favourite ones - most of the backgrounds are from playing with the gelli plate.

Sunday Weekly Wrap-Up
With November comes AEDM as well as other challenges. I have started taking part in PiBoId and on day 4, I now have 4 ideas for picture books as well as a good start on my quotes cards. AEDM makes it so much easier to make time for art.
I just discovered "An Attitude of Gratitude" blog and am enjoying the prompts and quotes, videos and art lessons. Lots to take in there. By the end of November, a gratitude journal should be well established.
Saturday I had fun just playing with paint. I created a number of backgrounds - with fingers, sponges, stamps and credit cards.
Today I turned those backgrounds into the backgrounds for my quote cards. I have started 2 but need to embellish them more.
And there are several more cards waiting for their quotes.
Take some time for art/ creativity this month - your soul will soar!

AEDM
Here it is November 1st and Art Every Day for the month of November has begun. This is a wonderful way to encourage your creativity and make time for art.
Leah Piken Kolidas of Creative Every Day has hosted AEDM for several years and provides much support and encouragement. It is also a wonderful community of artists.
I will be taking part, as I have for the past couple of years. As I wrote about on Sunday, I will be creating a set of quote cards, with my art and quotes that have meaning to me.
This is my first one:
I also quickly carved a new stamp - just an abstract with straight lines to get me back into carving. I want to continue work on my course and on stamp carving this month.
While visiting Collage Diva, I came across this very interesting twist on tracking your gratitudes.
Lauren Tober is hosting a daily photograph challenge.
As she says:
"What ever your camera of choice, come
November, fire it up and start photographing
the things that make you the most grateful"
I love this idea and as I am already writing out what I am grateful for most nights, I am going to add this element of photographing what I am grateful for each day.
Today I am most grateful for art - that it definitely feeds the soul.
I will not be posting daily, but will most likely post on Sundays as part of my Sunday Weekly Wrap-up.
