Best Shot Monday

At Best Shot Monday, they are celebrating summer!
There have been so many hot, glorious summer days in July so far and we have had several short trips to enjoy this weather. This past weekend we spent in Tweed - a small town 30 minutes north of Belleville. My hubby and his son spent long mornings on a fishing boat, while his wife and I spent the time exploring little shops and the beach with their little one!
Nothing like seeing things through the eyes of a 15 month year old!
One spot we explored was a park with small falls. You could easily walk across the large rocks. I stayed on the shore and was the photographer - the young family walked across and sat in the water. The little one loved it!
There was a lone heron in the water and he just moved a bit if they got too close!
Nothing like rushing water, sky and bird for being close to nature!

Best Shot Monday

When I arrived home tonight I was tired. It was a long weekend, and a looong day. The children all seemed antsy, my most challenged student was back (after being sent home Friday) and he ran off this afternoon.

But the first thing I saw when I pulled into the driveway were the flowers! So many more have begun to bloom, taking the place of the tulips which are dying.

Yet even in their dying, there is beauty.

I got my camera and began to take photos of flowers. then I had to check out our nest. The eggs haven't hatched yet but I think I see a crack! Can't wait for the babies to arrive!

Best Shot Monday

Since photography has been increasingly much more a part of my life, I've been finding new memes that focus on photography. Several I have taken part in a few times but "Best Shot Monday" is new for me.
I love the idea of taking photos and then reflecting on them.

Tracey Clark hosts Best Shot Monday and asks us :

What have you been reminded of lately?

How is life looking in your world?

I have been so loving all the greenery, the blooms, the birds, and new life. The warm weather, even the rain have made me feel so much more invigorated.

After the week I had last week (my ODD student off his medication for the week - that was a real joy! and my very troubled student hitting my EA on Thursday, causing me to hold the door so he would not escape, which resulted in severe pain on my hip all weekend), seeing all this beauty around has really helped.
