Art It Friday - Show Your Face!
Once again, it's time to share faces/portraits created this week for "Art It Friday - Show Your Face"
I played with some of my gelli papers today and first created this fun face:
Then I worked in my journal. I had loved this quote by Harriet Tubman:
"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."
and wanted to use it for the A to Z challenge but it was too long for the cards I used. Instead it worked well here.
Here's a close-up of the face. I started with a magazine face, then gessoed and painted it.
I took part in this postcard exchange with the theme "Collaged Kindness".
I used a gelli paper for the background, and alphabet stickers. The quote comes from the amazing book "Wonder" written by R. J. Palacio. There is a whole movement based on "Choose Kind" and it is one I used in my classroom. If only everyone would!

What a great idea to start with a magazine face and go from there! Great quote.
Been a long time since I myself had done any art journal, I like your style. I think this might be my second time here tho I think it is my first comment posted here.
Nice the faces are interesting
Much love...
Love your dream spread. Very very cool.
That is cool, I love your Gelli plate face! And the journal page with the words running at an angle with the side profile face is fab! So glad to see it and thank you so much for linking up to Art It Friday - Show Your Face and shouting out too! Have a lovely week. Kx
