Shadows have become a subject in their own right! Instead of trying to get rid of them, those who follow "Shadow Shot Sunday" eagerly seek them out!
While photographing the knitted bridge in Cambridge this past week, I realized the shadows just added to the uniqueness of this art project. ( The knitted afghans, toques and scarves will be removed Sept. 27, washed and donated to the needy. It has been quite an interesting project.)

I love this bridge as a canvas for knit and woven art. It is a tapestry of colors and textures and is highlighted mid-span by the Maple Leaf. The variety of hues keeps us looking up, and the shadows on the buildings adds a rich backdrop. Nice outdoor gallery!
That is quite an amazing art project and humanitarian effort as well. Glad you got such great ShadowShots of it! Will now look to see if there is a websight about it too. Happy SSS!
Bev, Your photos are as good as any I found on Google! Here is a little article about the Knitted Hug: http://news.therecord.com/article/774459
What a fabulous project, beautifully photographed.

The knitted bridge is a fantastic idea (except I see some are crocheted). Either way, it's great. I used to knit a lot but turned to crocheting because of neck and shoulder pains. Crocheting uses a different set of muscles I think.
I'm so glad you posted this! I hadn't heard about this knitted bridge. What a fascinating project!
An incredible, creative project that ends up benefitting those who need! Great post!
Wow, I hadn't heard of this. Thank you for sharing it. what a beautiful idea...the knitted bridge. I wish I could go see it in person. Your photos of it are so lovely.

Wow! What a fantastic project! We had a project like that happening here in Brisbane a little while back but not to that scale! I love that knitted bridge!
Hey I was finally able to enlarge and save one of your photos (I do attempt every week with no luck!). So I'll include it in a collage next week. Your first 3 pics are clickable but not the last one :)
Hope you have a great week Bev!
What a wonderful project, great photos, too!
What a fantastic idea, I have never heard of the knitted bridge. Great shadow shots.

Wishing you a great weekend as well!!
That Canadaian flags stands up, and every child will recognise it.
I did a post on sunday on flags,
http://annkschin.blogspot.com/2010/09/sunday-stills-next-challenge-flags.html, I asked my students, and they recognise your marple leaf.
That's really interesting! A lot of work went into this project. I hope the weather doesn't get bad and cause these lovely pieces to get wet! Fascinating post! Thanks for visiting mine.
