Once again it is time to join in the fun at ABC Wednesday. This weeek G is our focus and continuing with the artist theme, G is for some great artists!
Thomas Gainsborough - the 18th century English painter.
Paul Gauguin - He was"was a leading Post-Impressionist artist, painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramist and writer. His bold experimentation with colouring led directly to the Synthetist style of modern art while his expression of the inherent meaning of the subjects in his paintings, under the influence of the cloisonnist style, paved the way to Primitivism " (from Wikipedia)
Vincent Van Gogh - one of my favourite artists; probably one of the most famous and most reproduced. Who doesn't know his sunflowers or starry night sky? Visit his online gallery.
El Greco - was a painter, sculptor, and architect of the Spanish Renaissance. (Wikipedia)
Be sure to check out the other great participants here.

I'm really enjoying your artists' series. Good idea!
I would enjoy taking a history of art course, but I have too many other things on my plate, so I snatch up information from blogs like yours and try not to lose it in the information overload in my mind. Good blog.
our pastors are big van Gogh fans, visited where he worked even.

Always something fun to learn each Wednesday as I visit your ABC Wednesday post.
A great series of artists. When I first moved to Kentucky, the dollar stores carried reproductions of many of those paintings. I bought a Van Gogh for $10! Can't beat that! Thanks for joining us for ABC Wednesday.
