Creative Every Day -focus on "SELF"

This month at Creative Every Day the focus is on SELF. This month for me is also a focus on self.

I have been trying very hard to be creative every day - whether it is photographing (which I am loving more and more), working on "Wreck This Journal", collaging, or working through some art books.

Last week I started a new project - my own set of 52 cards, with each number/face card having a different theme. I set up a giveaway (see the previous post) and have received some great ideas for certain numbers that were challenging me. (By the way, the giveaway is up on Friday.) This is a challenge for me (both the project and the giveaway -my first) but I am enjoying it.

Then today when I was thinking I needed a way to focus on getting at some issues - my very own copy of Violette's "Journal Bliss" arrived. (I had won it on her giveaway!) Talk about syncronicity!

The Journal Bliss is gorgeous and filled with ways to follow your bliss. I am so going to love diving into this book! Thanks Violette!

So this week will be a busy crafting week - journalling, collaging on the cards, wrecking the journal and photographing.

I will also be continuing the purge!. I am collector -especially of paper and books! I am trying to do a bit each day and by month's end I hope to have my studio! (Saying it hopefully will be my prod to keep working to that end.

I visited Mel"s From Clutter to Shine blog today and ended up doing the personality test she wrote about. She is always a joy to read and visit.
I was curious to see what I would be labelled as! It was actually very informative - as it made me realize why I have been so lost the past few years. According to the Personality test I am "INFP" - the dreamer. One section really hit me:

"They will find great satisfaction if they encourage and develop their artistic abilities. That doesn't mean that an INFP has to be a famous writer or painter in order to be content. Simply the act of "creating" will be a fullfilling source of renewal and refreshment to the INFP. An INFP should allow ... herself some artistic outlet, because it will add enrichment and positive energy to their life."

Wow! No wonder I was sad at times - I needed to create!

So create I will most definitely - and not worry about the result so much as the process!

RENEWAL , ENRICHMENT, POSITIVE ENERGY, REFRESHMENT ! What a lot I can expect to receive from creating daily!

This has my wheels turning & smoking.

Hmmmm....

OK I'll think out loud. (scary) I have purposely NOT looked at the post you requested help for 5's, 6's, and 9's....

5's....could be words that rhyme with five like; drive, hive, alive, jive, strive, ride, ummmmm OK never mind. How about the Jackson 5??? Yeah, that would work.

6's... Jon and Kate plus 8...just have the kids pics & put little black slashes over Jon & Kate's... like they used to do in old detective magazines or the fashion what not to do's in Glamour to hide someone's identity. LOL

9's...cats have 9 lives. How about 9 adorable kitties to a card? Opie Taylor said you can use any of his pics I have posted on my page if you need some kitty cuteness.

This was fun.

And thank you for being so faithful to visit me. I get so behind in visiting everyone. I don't know how people do it. Thank you, thank you, thank YOU!!!

I am working on a deck of cards, too, this week, focusing on lines from the play I am working on right now ("Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" by Tennessee Williams). I figure if I take my focus lines from each scene I am in and also some of the significant lines from the other characters, I will discover stuff from my characters as well as my Self.

Loved reading of your process and look forward to more!
