Shadow Shot Sunday

Today we share our shadow shots at SSS - a fun meme that is quite addictive. Here are a few from the past week.
We visited Stratford last Sunday, to see "King Lear" and had time to walk along the Avon River and on the grounds of the Festival Theatre,  to catch the swans and flowers and shadows!

Be sure to check here to see wonderful shadows from around the world.

Shadow Shot Sunday

Seeking shadows has become an enjoyable past-time. This past week, with lots of sun, shadows were quite easy to find.

We visited Stratford this week and had a lovely walk along the Thames River. Swans, geese and ducks abound, both in and out of the water.

This was one of the decorated pianos that are part of a unique programme that has pianos decorated and left for people to play - and many did.

Be sure to visit here to see great shadows from around the world.

Slice of Life Tuesday

Yesterday, which was a holiday here in Ontario, ended up being a perfect day of sunshine, not too hot and a visit to one of my favourite spots. Stratford is about an hour's drive away and we try to go there several times a summer. This was our first visit sine last August and it was  so good to be back.
We did a bit of shopping and then walked along the Thames River.

Stratford is home to the Stratford Festival, which hosts wonderful Shakespearean plays for several moths as well as other well-known plays.

Walking along the river though is a favourite past-time. Swans, geese and ducks can be seen all along the river, swimming and coming ashore seeking food.

This year there were numerous pianos outdoors, begging to be played. It is an ambitious project.

"Eight pianos, decorated by local artists, were installed across downtown Stratford for everyone to play, commemorating the 80th anniversary of Glenn Gould’s birth"  They will be available from Aug. 1 -19. We found 5 of the 8 and even played at a couple.

We finished our day with a lovely supper and drove home, tired but happy.

Weekend Reflections

Reflections can best be found near water - and our visits to Stratford always find us walking along the river. Swans, ducks and geese are always in and around the water, so there are always lots of opportunity to capture reflections. There are so many lovely spots in Stratford as well.

Here's a few from our last trip:

Weekend Reflections

Time for Weekend Reflections once again - a time to search out reflections where ever they may appear. Windows, lakes and streams, puddles, raindrops. mirrors are all possibilities!

Visiting Stratford is always enjoyable. Walking along the Avon River is a must, as swans and geese and ducks can always be found in and around the shore.

There was also some interesting non-living things in the water as well!

Be sure the visit the other great participants here.

Shadow Shot Sunday

Another photo challenge is the "Shadow Shot Sunday" hosted by Harriet of "Hey Harriet". I had been observing several blogs from the sidelines and then decided this week to try the challenge!

We were visiting Stratford (Southwestern Ontario) yesterday and we had a great day walking along the Avon River observing the swans and ducks.
I realized that I had several shots with shadows!

Here there is both shadow and reflection! Such beautiful birds!
