Here is my work space on my dining room table. I created the backgrounds for these cards (gelli prints) last week and put several together tonight.

In the photo, I have finished two (at the top) and am working on several more.
I have a lot of used stamps - many of which are of famous people. I am taking part in the "A to Z Challenge" and my theme is art cards with quotes by famous people.. (Check here for my theme reveal - I will be sharing at my other blog)

ABC Wednesday - L

This week at ABC Wednesday the letter of focus is L.

L is for letters - the building block of words.

Here I have created a collage page of letters from different sources - stamps, stencil, peel-off.

I haven't participated in a few weeks - too many dreary days and few shadows. But today, even though it was colder, the sun was shining and I found shadows.

ABC Wednesday -K and WOYWW

Today is time to share our letter of the week choice for "ABC Wednesday" - which is letter K.

K is for kitchen utensils.

I did not want to use our kitchen utensils, so I went shopping for some yesterday.And then this morning I had fun using them for printmaking. See if you can tell what I used for what making what marks.

I am continuing working on my printmaking course and am really enjoying it. Using kitchen utensils was just a side project for ABC Wednesday.

I used the backgrounds I had made last week for this project.

It's time to share our workspaces for WOYWW, that fun meme hosted by Julia at "Stamping Ground"

On Tuesday, I had fun playing with paint and created a number of things.

I have started a free art course at Strathmore "Bold and Expressive Printmaking with Tracy Bautista andam really enjoying it so far. (I have her book and enjoy working with it)

I created some foam stamps and then did some stamping with them.

Then I did some backgrounds with the gelli plate.

And finally, did some stamping with junk (for the ABC Wednesday challenge - J was the letter of the week)

(Green was for St. Patrick's Day!)

ABC Wednesday - J is for Junk

Today at ABC Wednesday, the letter of focus is J.

J is for JUNK - that is using junk for printmaking.

Here are a few junk items I had in a tub.

I had already created the background (green for St. Patrick's Day) and then proceeded to use each piece for stamping onto the paper. Some printed much better than others. But, it was fun and relaxing.

ABC Wednesday - I for Inks and WOYWW

This week at ABC Wednesday, I is the letter of focus.

I is for ink sprays.
I have several ink sprays but have not used them very much. I decided to create a background with the ink sprays (on an altered book)

(and journal)

and then I used stencils to spray some hearts.Then added some cut hearts and a quote to finish the page.

The quote is by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

 "Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year."

Here is my work table after I had glued on the quote in the altered book to the left. To the right is the journal with the second layer of stencils only. Still not sure where that is going. I should have included a photo of my fingers - a little pink and purple. Inks stain a bit!

We have moved to H in the journey through the alphabet at ABC Wednesday.

H is for hearts
