Kristin at "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" is holding a 10 week celebration of colour. Week 1 had us share what we hope to create with each of the colours. This past week has been a focus on the colour blue, one of my favourite colours.
Over the course of the week I tried different things.
My first project was to create a collage of different blues, cut from a magazine.
Next, I created blues by adding more and more white to my blue. (I have my grade 3s do this every year and they love to see the colours change.)
I next played with paint and materials to move the paint around with:
just with a credit card:
with a credit card and paint brush:
and finally with fingers, brush and stamping. Finger painting - what fun!
I will probably use these last 3 for ATC backgrounds as well as postcard backgrounds.
It has been fun playing with colour. Be sure to join the celebration of colour at Twinkle Twinkle!

Lovely experimenting...they will make great backgrounds...xxx
How cool! I too love seeing these different techniques - thank you for sharing and for playing along, xoxo
These will make great backgrounds. I love the 'hands on' way of creating them!
Fun - if it wasn't would we do it? Happy to see another Canadian here!
Looks like so much fun! What a great way to explore colour.
I am watching the game tonight too, hope the Canucks win but it would be great to have the win here in Van. I was downtown today where they have had huge TV screen set up for the past few games and it was already crazy down there at 3 o'clock and the game doesn't start until 5. I love it when the Canucks score, I get up and open my door and your can hear the whole city yelling and screaming and blowing horns. Lot so fun. It will be insane here if they win - or should I say when they win!!
Hope all is well with you, I guess you will be free soon. Take care!!
Thanks for sharing all your experimenting - it's easy to forget that there's lots of good reasons and uses for those experimental days. Yours look like so much fun.
