ABC Wednesday - F is for Flag

This week at ABC Wednesday our letter of focus is F.

With the Olympics on, and a gold medal win last night in Ice Dancing for Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir (a fabulous free-style dance last night by the way), I chose to use

F for FLAG.

To see our flag being raised again for a gold medal win and then the playing of our national anthem was very special.

Can we say it? Canadians are actually becoming very patriotic! We believe! (This song has become our song for these Olympics:

That was a beautiufl skate dance yesterday and very deserving of the gold medal. They were so passionate and their movements were complete and beautiful. The difference between them and the couple that skated to Phantom Of The Opera was very maked. They didn't follow through on their movements and it seemed very rushed and without passion. I used to watch skating all the time but the scoring was so political and off I haven't watched since Elvis Stoyko retired from amateur skating. It really was a pleasure to watch them.
Have a great day.

Coming from a country which has a split-personality flag, I've always admired the design of yours. And I believe the bill to change it passed through Parliament without fuss! Here, in Australia, there's endless angst about the possibility of a flag change!

What a terrific and patriotic F day! First time in a long time that I actually missed having a TV!! Would have loved to have seen Tessa and Scott! Hope your week is going well so far, Beverly! Enjoy your day!

I saw that dance and thought it was a very intimate and gentle dance. A well-deserved medal!

I'm hoping for the Dutch flag tonight though: speed skating!

I always thought that the Canadian maple leaf flag was very important in developing the country's sense of its own identity. (I hear NZ is finally considering it too.)

On behalf of the ABC Wednesday team, thank you!

I almost did "flag" too, but Lorne had all these great photos of the fans lined up for the hockey game against the USA...so changed my mind. Good post! Thx for popping by. :D

I have enjoyed the Olympics, but I missed last nights. It is fun seeing all the flags!

They definitely deserved the Gold medal. I loved watching them sing the song while your flag was raised.

It was a wonderful skate, - so graceful, and intimate is a lovely word to describe it. Lots of tears at the raising of the Flag. Great choice for F.

It's great to have the opportunity to wave the flag and be proud.

Congratulations - the Canadians are at the moment on the top of the world :-)

PS Thank you for the comment - it is from a small bay off a larger fjord, so it is partly frozen.
