Here we are once again searching for what could represent a new letter in the challenge at ABC Wednesday. This week it is P.
Scrolling through the photos I was looking for pansies and pumpkins, when I came across photos of our class trip to a pioneer village. The shots taken of the printing press were so fitting
for this week.
How different from printing newspapers now!
Be sure to check out the other great participants here.

What fun shots for the day! Yes, printing newspapers is very, very different today! Interesting post, Beverly!
Hope the rest of your week goes well!

What a lot of skill and time it must have taken to run a Pioneer Printing Press. Great Post
Nice P. And a very important gadget in this world: making sure more and more people can read books.
Perfect choice for the letter P. Where would we be without the printing press?
The greatest of the inventions. Love those old presses
Very interesting piece on printing.
Printing presses are a wonderful invention. Where would we be without them...
My father was a printer! Not quite from the pioneer era, but he was trained in 'hot metal' type, where you had to compose the text one letter at a time using tiny metal blocks, each with a raised (and reversed) letter or character on them, in large wooden trays.. I imagine it took some concentration and diligence - as you say, a long, long way from how it's done today!
Thanks for the memories!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh, printing presses! Aren't they lovely?! Always desperately wanted a small press do handpress broadsides of poetry. Always seemed so romantic to me :) Thanks for posting these, Bev! Miracles, k-
What a great idea. Interesting!
