ABC Wednesday - D and WOYWW
This week at ABC Wednesday, D is the letter of focus.
For the speak out quotes this week I chose two -
Clarence Darrow
Darrow's words have direct meaning in these dark days.
Jennifer Donnelly
Yes, yes, yes.
Check here to see what others around the word did for D.
WOYWW
Each week at Stamping Ground, Julia Dunnit asks us to share our work spaces and what we are working on.
Here is my art table where I was working on the backgrounds for my cards above.
and here is my dining room table where I finished the cards.

ART on Friday - on Saturday
This week has sped by and was quite busy. Every day my husband and I attended a workshop on heart health - to help him with his cardiac rehab. I have learned so much this week - from medications, to stress management and foods. But the information is helpful and hopefully will ensure my husband improves.
I did some art this week but not as much as I would have liked. Here is a look at wy work this week:
Colour Me Positive
This week the theme from LuLu Art was on how we treat pople. How appropriate, after the terrible treatment of Muslims by Trump and Co. What was heartening was seeing the demonstrations against the "Muslim Ban" all across the U.S. and around the world. Even our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, offered refuge for those effected by the ban.
Here is my journal spread:
The Collage Workbook
I only worked on one project this week - #28 Flora. I'm definitely enjoying the projects from this book, and assessing my work after they are done.
I love flowers and have al ot of floral paper and stamps.
Here are the 4 cards I created:
Project 365
This week I created feathers with zens on them - a relaxing project.
Here are the last 4:

WOYWW
Each week, Julia Dunnit of "Stamping Ground", encourages us to share our work spaces and what we are working on.
I decided to take part in two challenges this week - Tag Tuesday and Sunday Postcard Art.
Tag Tuesday
The theme this week was "Stones and Pebbles". I used a gelli print I had and found a quote I love by Michelangelo to create my tag.
Here's my dining room table after it was finished.
Sunday Postcard Art
I haven't taken part in this challenge very much, but the theme seemed like it would be fun. Again I used a gelli print I had and then embellished it with stamped circles and some drawn circles.
Here's my table after finishing the card.

ART on Friday
This past week has sped by. Hard to believe we are more than half way through January.
Here are a few things I worked on this week.
Colour Me Positive
This week at LuLu Art, the theme is new beginnings. It seems that with the new president in the US, the quote should be reversed - painful beginnings, sad endings; too many closed doors.
The Collage Workbook
I created a few more collages based on the projects from The Collage Workbook.
Black and white
Typography - letters and words
Sketch a Day
Here are the latest flower sketches for my 365 sketch project:

WOYWW
Each week, Julia Dunnit of "Stamping Ground", encourages us to share what we are working on and what our work spaces look like.
I have been working on the creativity exercises from "The Collage Workbook" by Randel Plowman..
I've been enjoying his projects so far.
Today I created 3 black and white collages - on 3x5 index cards.
Here's my dining room table before I started gluing - I gathered a lot of papers to begin with
and then after the cards had been made.
Here are the cards:

ABC Wednesday - B
This week at ABC Wednesday, B gets the nod.
B is for Buddha
and Buddha's words tell us to speak out, act on our beliefs.
Be sure to check here to see what others around the world did for B.

ART on Friday
Time for my weekly art share.
The Collage Workbook
I made a decision that this year I would pull some of my art books off the shelf and actually work through them. The first book is "The Collage Workdbook" by Randel Plowman and so far I am enjoying the projects. The subtitle really describes the book - "how to get started and stay inspired".
My first project was to do 5 cards (I used 3x5 index cards), spending 5 minutes on each. A fun, quick project:
I also need to get rid of the many magazines I have - a vice I have! - so I used these to pull images and words and colours.
The next project was to create cards of one colour, in different tints and shades. I did 6:
Colour Me Positive
This week at LuLu Art, the theme is discipline.
I did a very random, inked background and then stamped some very regular borders, before adding the quote for the week.
Full Moon Dreamboard
Yesterday, was the full wolf moon and I have decided to take part once again, in the monthly creation of a dreamboard.
The question I focused on as I created it was "What am I hungry for?"
Art Quote Cards
A new round of ABC Wednesday began this week and I decided to create "Speak Out" cards as I feel we all must do our part in speaking out against racism, bigotry, homophobia, prejudice of any kind.
Here are the first two:
There's still time to join in with this fun weekly challenge - so many ways to take part - art, photography, stories, etc. Check here for more info.
365 Sketches
Here are the latest daily sketches for my 365 project - I decided to focus on flowers.
