This week at ABC Wednesday,
O is the letter of focus.
O is for
oil pastels. They can be very messy but they are fun to use. I tried two different kinds of pastels:
I had picked up some fallen leaves - a maple and
oak and thought I would try an activity I used with my students.
First I went around each leaf by pushing the
oil pastel out from the edge. Next I just traced the leaf and coloured in. Unfortunately the leaves had become a bit brittle, so it was a bit of a challenge.
Check

Each week, Julia Dunnit of "
Stamping Ground" hosts the fun meme WOYWW - where artists from around the world share their work spaces and what they are working on.
I created the leaf pastels on my art table. It was quick and only a bit messy this time - fun to just play with a medium I don't use too much.

Hi Bev
If i think correctlly you are a very creative person... so the things you mention are important... to have a hobby is truly a gift. Wishing you lots of inspiration and the richness to have the utensils you need for it.
Have a nice abc-day/-week

So pretty!
OMG the 1st picture is a dream of every artist, to own so many pretty colors
Loved the post
I worked with pastels when I was young. My Aunt taught me to use them.
It was a challenge for a 10 year old but I really enjoyed it.
so colorful!

Hi Beverly,
Are oil pastels like gelatos? I hate to admit this but I have some gelatos but haven't used them yet.... Yikes. Your leaf project looks nice; too bad they were a bit brittle.
I'm finally getting around to some desks today - better late than never.
Happy belated WOYWW
Hugs, Kay (38)
I bought oil pastels for a course and haven't used them since. Maybe now that I have the studio to work in, I'll get more play time. Autumn colors are my favorite. Creative Blessings! Kelly #47
