Shadow Shot Sunday

Shadows make for interesting subjects - you never know where they lurk. I used to try to avoid them in photos - now I love seeing them out.

Shadow Shot Sunday is the amazing brainchild of Tracy of "Hey Harriet" - very addictive, that's for sure.

Here are a few shadows from this past week.

Last photo of one of our baby robins - they have flown away!

Bye, bye baby robins! Sad to see you go! You've provided a lot of entertainment for the past several weeks.

SING A SONG OF SHADOWS

Sing a song of shadows
Taller than a tree!
Sing a song of shadows
Wider than the sea!
Sing a song of shadows
Dancing in the sun!
Sing a song of shadows—
Day is almost done!

Sorry to hear that baby robins have flown away.
Your posts about them were very interesting.
But I'm sure next year there will be new baby robins :)

Regards!

The babies have left the nest - now the parents can get some rest! Subtle yard shadows may seem small to some - not me, the subjects may be diminutive, but their shadows have a power all their own...

Beautiful shadow cast by that weed.
And mixed thoughts as the last baby leaves the nest, somewhere between wistful and nostalgic.

Lovely shots. I think I like the one with the weed the most. it may be a weed, but its shadow is great!

I love shadows and wonder if they are the more real thing. I like the way a ribbon of shadow seems to wrap around the bird. http://looseleafnotes.com
