Wishcasting Wednesday

Today Jamie Ridler asks us a very interesting question:

What door do you wish to open?

At first I thought I had no door to open, that I had expressed all my wishes lately. But then the image of myself, standing on the outside looking in, came to me. I realized that this is a feeling I have had most of my life - with my family and later at school and at work. I am friendly with people and I have a couple of close friends who live far away. Moving here 6 years ago was difficult and I still feel like the new kid on the block.

So, the door I wish to open is the door of friendships and kindred spirits. I want to enter that world of laughter and caring and sharing and joy.

As Jamie says:

"You can be a maker of magic and a tender of wishes. It’s easy. Answer the wish prompt above on your blog . Support wishes by visiting other participants. It’s that simple. There is great power in wishing together."

I too know how that feels. I got busy when I moved here and made friends... but there are no real close laugh at a movie, have a drink with, see a play with friends. As Bev wishes for herself, so I wish for her also.

This is really a very heartfelt wish. Finding that supportive community is so important and can be hard when you are new. Until you find that group where you live, remember your online friends are there for you now. As you wish for yourself, I wish for you as well.

I can so relate. I too have always been on the outside looking in. And having moved earlier this year, I have lost the frequent contact with the few friends I did have.

Ah, to find "kindred spirits." That is the best of all! It is my favorite phrase for special friends. They are few and far between, but you know when you have found one.

Hold tight to you online friends, we are here for you too.

Try joining a book discussion group or something at the library - that is often a good place to find interesting new people :)

May you find joy and friendship. As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you also.

Wishes can come true... and what better to wish for than the kinship and kindness of people to whom we can open our hearts; laugh with; weep with; wear our hearts on our sleeves with...What you wish for yourself, Bev, i heartily wish for you also.

A mighty fine wish, Beverly, and one I share with you! May you find yourself drawn to just the right places at just the right times where you meet up with just the right folks, those who share your hopes, dreams, and wishes, and sense of humor, and those whom you can talk and laugh and share with, and feel totally free to be yourself around!

As you wish for yourself, so I wish for you as well!
