ABC Wednesday -O and WOYWW

This week it is O at ABC Wednesday.

O is for oil pastels

The oil pastels with the landscape I created

I received an art kit a while ago and I've decided to start using up some of the supplies.

Oil pastels can be messy though. My fingers after rubbing the pastel on the paper.:

Be sure to check here to see how others around the world focused on O.

WOYWW

Each week we are encouraged to share our work spaces for WOYWW - the fun meme hosted at "Stamping Ground".

Here is my art table after completing the o;i pastel landscape.

I am about to try out oil pastels as well. One of the artists I follow uses them with her mixed media paintings...mixing with acrylics and water media too. You would think oil and water con't mix...but it works for her so I must try :) Happy WOYWW! Shel@PaperOctilloStudio #54

I love oil pastels and the way they cover the paper but you are right they can be very messy. You need to use a workable fixative with them.
Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 30

Oil pastels are great. Did you know you can blend them with a little olive oil and a baby wipe. Enjoy,

Playing with new media is fun, isn't it? I love oil pastels (I use the cheap ones from Pentel, which are gorgeous and spread so easily) but I definitely keep baby wipes on hand!
