Tonight I was able to take some time for art. Finally!
I created 2 collages for 2 of my favourite challenges. I used gelli papers for both backgrounds.
Collage Obsession:
This week the theme was "Use 1 word"
I chose Love and tried the stencil technique Carolyn Dube offered through an online course (a must do!)
For me, my Mother epitomizes Love. Next week will be the 5th anniversary of her passing - I still miss her so much. This was in honour of her.

The piece in memory of your mother is a beautiful tribute to her.
Wonderful tribute to your mum. That background is gorgeous!
I love the gelli plate backgrounds on both pieces, and especially like the page in honor of your mother.
Happy PPF!
how very sweet and yes, special!!!
Lovely collages, especially the one for your mother.
both are great fun but that retro one is full of energy... looks like you had a fun creative week...xx
I am really not good at doing collage so I like these a lot. Happy PPF.

Sweet! Mom blends into the words as if they are her dress! Not sure you planned it that way but its what I see!
I graduated high school in 1959! You got it so right!
Cool, man!
The first collage was a wonderful tribute to your mother. The 1959, whoa, brought back many memories. Blessings, Janet PPF
Aren't Gelli plates fun? I love what you've created from both gelli prints. The tribute to your mom is so special, and the Retro one is lots of fun. I remember Hula Hoops!
Your tribute to your mother for Collage Obsession is lovely - mum are never forgotten, we hear their voices still, commenting on what we are about to do or have done!
The retro piece for Insp Avenue is so evocative of that era, and is a flashback to the past for me. 1959 was the year I had my first baby - but we had neither the TV nor the car then. Very well done.
Two great collage pieces. I love the colours and patterns you have used with the gelli prints. The tribute to your mum is lovely and the retro one highlights a great era. I miss my mum too:(
Both pieces are lovely!
(so sorry to hear about the loss of your mum...)
Nice pieces....yay fifties.
Very beautiful. I did not know about the gelli print technique. Very interesting. I used to do paper marbling so it is simialr in that you get monoprints. I floated my colors on a liquid solution. Very nice tribute to your mother.

Wow, if your mom isn't in tears by that I don't know what would cause tears. It is beautiful! Lovies, Samara
Love both but especially love the Retro pages! Belated HPPF!
