ABC Wednesday - V is for Violets

We are nearing the end of Round 6 at ABC Wednesday. Already we are at V! This week I have chosen:

V is for Violets.

I have never had much luck with violets. I don't have much of a green thumb. In fact, my hubby resorted to buying me cut flowers as most plants don't survive my under or over watering - I do both!

Yet this little potted plant has survived a month so far! There is just something so delicate about this little plant. Here's hoping it will continue to thrive (not just survive!)

Be sure to visit the other great participants here.

A lovely little violet, - looks very tender. Not like the hardy creatures that invade my garden and establish themselves everywhere!

I love violets! Yours are just delightful. I've never seen a pink one! Mine has just gone wild lately and I had to put it in a much bigger pot! Hope your week is off to a great start!

Looks so delicate...treat it with loving care, whispering sweet nothings into the petals. Perhaps you'll have better luck with this little plant. :D

I love violets. Some ar so lacy and delicate. Unfortunately I just can't seem to keep them alive either.
My Mother in law always watered hers with what was left of the tepid tea after the evening meal.
Hers always looked like prize winners.

How beautiful! Good luck keeping this one around. I can offer no suggestions. But wild violets have taken over my rock garden, every crack in the patio (and there are plenty) and have invaded the grass in earnest. I love them, but....

Oh, that's a pretty violet! And still alive! Well done! LOL!

I'm like you, I either under- or over-water, and that kills so many things. *Sigh*

On behalf of the team, thanks for taking part in ABC Wednesday this week! :)

I finally found a pot that allows me to keep African Violets alive - it's a pot that sits within a larger pot - you put the water in the larger pot and the inner pot, which is unglazed clay, gives the oil evenly moist. That and a home where it has both an eastern and a southern exposure, and mine seem to thrive. Yours is lovely - good luck with it!

I don't have good luck with violets at all. Love them, but they just won't grow for me. This one is just lovely. Congrats.
