This week at ABC Wednesday, C is front and centre.
C is, of course, for Canada and Canadian - my homeland and nationality, of which I am very proud.
C is also for Calgary and the Calgary Stampede.
Our honeymoon, 15 years ago, was spent in Calgary, a place I had visited many times before.
But I had never been to the Stampede. We had a grand time visiting the city and the stampede.
The first Calgary Stampede was held in 1912. Now it is held for 10 days in early July and is called "the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth".
It began with a parade downtown and pancake breakfasts.
There were so many competitions and exhibits to see. We watched bull riding, chuck wagon racing, bronco riding
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Be sure to visit here to see what others around the world did for C.

Too many horses get hurt and killed at the Calgary stampede. :(
Friend of mine arrived yesterday afternoon on Vancouver airport to visit their son and travel for 4 weeks through Canada... 11 hrs flight from where we live after 2 hrs drive by car ...

What an event and you got to photograph it ~ wonderful shots ~ ^_^
It sounds and looks like a lot of fun. The closest equivalent in my neck of the woods (Hollister, California) is our annual saddle horse show and rodeo. No parade this year, though, which was a bummer.
The View from the Top of the Ladder
I hear it's very entertaining
