Shadow Shot Sunday and Merry Christmas!

The Saturday before Christmas! December has flown by. Yesterday was our last day before a two week break and I think we were all feeling the need for a holiday. It has been such a stressful month.
This past week most schools in Ontario held a one day protest strike against our illustrious provincial government.

All week I have been following the news from Newtown. What an unbelievable tragedy. As a teacher, I can only imagine what those teachers and students were feeling. I have joined my prayers daily,  with the millions around the world who have watched in anguish.

There have been two responses to this tragedy that I have commited to:

Ann Curry, correspondent from NBC news has begun 26 Acts of Kindness for each of lose lost at Sandy Hook.

Erin of "Treasures Found" has just started "Operation S.A.N.T.A.", as a way to spread niceness all year long.

By positive acts we can extend that ripple of kindness  all around the world. Please join in.

Shadow Shot Sunday
Here are my shadows for the day, of a little Charlie Brown tree I received from a student yesterday. I love it. Come spring, I will plant it outside.
 .

Wishing everyone a Blessed Christmas and every happiness in the New Year.

love your Charley Brown tree! Peace is the gift our Lord bestowed, but it seems too many of us have declined it.
I like the title of your blog; Bunny is a nickname of a treasured granddaughter.
wishing you a peaceful Christmas

Adore the name Charlie Brown as the name for a tree! I've never heard of it! A little like a spruce? And it casts beautiful shadows!
Happiest Christmas to you!

Gifts from students are always precious, no matter what they are. You'll enjoy this one for many years to come (I hope).

Merry Christmas!

Newtown has been on all of our minds this week - it is a nice town about 17 miles west of here, normally tranquil and bucolic. I think about our kids when at that age and the what ifs...it saddens us especially in what would be a happy and glorious season...

Your Charlie Brown tree is wonderful - humble and not ostentatious as he noted about the commercialization of Christmas all those years ago. And true today. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
