Time to share shadows - that super fun meme at Hey Harriet!, created by Tracy. It is definitely addictive! last night, I saw Christmasy shadows and of course had to grab my camera.

Love your festive, holiday shadow shots, Bev! Hope you're enjoying a great weekend and wishing you more sun than we have in Seattle today!!

From the garland to the angel, seasonal shadows may also be found inside. The decorating of our homes for Christmas is fun, even if just a little at the time. Our cameras should all be ready for the captures we know will be all around...

I've always longed to see a shadowy angel!

IF I WERE A SHADOW

If I were a shadow,
I would seek the light;
There I would glow sleekly,
Black and shiny bright!

That gentle shadow of the garland is somehow even more fitting to the season than the garland itself, reminding us of the shadowy beginnings of the religion we celebrate at Christmas not the gaudy trappings of modern commercialism.
Gone are the days when we made paper chains and cutout angels, hung apples and nuts on the tree and had a few candles and children's eyes lit up with wonder.

Yay! Christmas shadows! How sweet they are!

Thank you so much Bev for your lovely contributions to SSS! I've so very much appreciated it! Great news is that a little team has formed to take over the running of SSS, so you'll be able to continue linking your wonderful shots! Woohoo! I'll be sharing details on my blog next Sunday. Again, thanks a bunch!
