ABC Wednesday - V is for Very Talented Artists

This week at ABC Wednesday, the fun meme that takes us through the alphabet, one letter at a time, V is the letter to focus on.

First and foremost,

Vincent Van Gogh - a tortured artist, who never became famous until after his death. His artwork can be seen everywhere now.

Johannes Vermeer -(1632-1675) was a Dutch painter who specialized in domestic interior scenes of middle class life

His painting of the young girl with an earring inspired a great book (by the same name)

Be sure to visit all the great participants here.

Nice. Have you see the video of Starry, Starry Night that goes with Van Gogh? It's a wonderful expression of his paintings and his tortured soul. I can give you the link if you are interested.

I like the two Vermeer paintings, tho' I sympathize with Van Gogh. I did a copy of the girl with a Pearl Earring and it came out quite well. I liked the book, not so much the movie.

Nice choice for V. I love Vermeer's paintings and his realistic approach.
I am a huge fan of Van Gogh. I love his use of color. It is a pity he was not alive to see the success of his work.
