Wishcast Wednesday

Today is Wishcast Wednesday and Jamie Ridler asks us another piercing question:

How do you wish to shine?

Most times the question an answer to Jamie's question comes easily. This time I struggled with an answer. I am not one to push myself forward, to be the centre of things. I like being behind the scenes.

I would like to shine as a teacher. I plan to retire within the next 3 to 4 years. In these last few years I would like to be a beacon for those children under my care. I would like to shine bright with caring, knowlege and a joy of learning.

As Jamie says:

"You can be a maker of magic and a tender of wishes. Support wishes by visiting other participants. There is great power in wishing together."

I bet you already are a beacon for your young charges, as Beverley wishes to put more into teaching and guiding her students, so I also wish for her to joyfully achieve.

How lucky are those children in your loving care! No doubt you are already a shining beacon for them and will continue to teach and light the way for others, even after you retire.

As Beverly wishes for herself, so I wish for her too.

What a wonderful wish for both you and the children you teach. I know they are very lucky to have someone who cares about them so much. Enjoy every minute of your time in the classroom. It is a very special place to be each day.

As you shine for your students don't forget to shine for yourself too.

As Beverly wishes for herself, so I wish for her also. Teachers are such shining stars (my mom and most of our family friends are teachers - I'm glad to bask in their light!) and even if it seems as if the students don't see it, they will look back and understand.

Oh Beverly..I am sooo with you here!! I have started to move away from my teaching and am hoping that with in maybe a year..I will be able to do the artwork full time. In the mean time..I am fighting burnout and trying to be present for the kids! Just the fact that you want to be a beacon for the kiddos..I am guessing you already are!! May you find the joy and light you seek! Hugs, Sarah
