As we near the end of the alphabet, finding something for these last letters becomes a bit more of a challenge.
My first thought was xylophone. I have a wooden one I use at school (unfortunately was not able to access it this week and besides - I am still not able to download any new photos as my computer still awaits surgery!!)
Hence I found a picture as close to it as possible. I love the tone of it and it is fairly easy for my students to enjoy playing.
At least once a year we borrow a set of different types of xylophones and use them with our choir at Christmas time. What fun!
Here is Wikipedia's description:
"The xylophone (from the Greek words ξύλον - xylon, "wood" + φωνή - phone, "voice", meaning "wooden sound") is a musical instrument in the percussion family which probably originated in Slovakia. It consists of wooden bars of various lengths that are struck by plastic, wooden, or rubber mallets".
